In the Contact 8 Semjase said :

196. I can give you the exact description for a machine that brings forth an extraordinary effect for all sorts of ailments and diseases.

197. This machine causes an absolute refreshment of the whole body, a total blood circulation and revitalisation in connection with a healing of the most diverse ailments.

After doing his calculations, Billy decided NOT to publish the specifications for this machine.

He explains : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aL7gUefe-0&t=1340s

The population would be three times the current population. All flora and fauna would be completely destroyed.

Arthur,
I’m fairly certain the device Semjase mentioned in Contact 8 is the same as the hydrodynamic regenerator described elsewhere in the Contact Reports — the Plejaren technology that enables them to extend their lifespans from nearly 400 years to well over 1,000.

That’s exactly why Billy’s decision not to release the specifications makes sense in the overpopulation context. If such a device were introduced here without the necessary consciousness-related evolution and strict population controls, the result would be catastrophic:
- Life expectancy would skyrocket without a corresponding drop in birth rates.
- The human population could triple in a short time, overwhelming food, water, and housing resources.
- The strain on ecosystems would accelerate the destruction of flora and fauna, exactly as Billy warned.

In other words, the technical possibility doesn’t automatically mean a social readiness to handle it responsibly. The Plejaren can use such a device because their population is capped at sustainable levels and their society is structured around long‑term planetary stewardship.

For us, the teaching point is that even beneficial technology can become destructive if introduced into an unbalanced system. The real “first step” isn’t building a similar machine — it’s building the societal maturity to use it without causing the very collapse it could otherwise help prevent.
